While in past seasons it had always been a case of how many people are on the injury list after the international break, things seem to have changed for the better at Arsenal with positive news coming after the first international game.

  • Wilshere and Frimpong are closer to first team action with both of them doing light training yesterday morning. It is expected that both would be available to take part in the full training session with the first team from next week.

  • Rosicky and Sagna also trained with the above duo but are still a bit behind before they can resume full training. The club is being cautious with both players as they are not so young anymore and have a history of injuries to contend with. They would probably join the full training session with the team a week after Wilshere and Frimpong.

  • In another good news for the gunners, it seems Wojciech Szczesny has recovered from his rib injury and would be ready to take his place in the team in Saturday’s game against Southampton.

  • But its not all good news about the injury concerns as Diaby was left out of the French team for today’s qualifier. But sources say that there is no need to be concerned as it is only a precautionary measure and he should be fit for Saturday.

  • On the other hand, Walcott may miss out on Saturday’s game as he has had to withdraw from the England squad due to illness. While it is believed that he may be ready for the match, the chances are that he may not take part in it.
