Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has finally provided some assurance to the fans that the club will make notable signings this summer.

Arsenal will spend money to add big names to the side. Initially, they had lost out on Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, who signed for Napoli. The Gunners are releasing Marouane Chamakh and Gervinho to reduce their wage bill.

Luis Suarez is Arsenal’s only major target this season. Suarez wants to leave Liverpool, after he had problems with the manager Brendan Rogers.

Wenger said in an interview: “We try and get what we want; if that doesn’t work we will look somewhere else,”

“The clubs with talented players don’t want to lose them.

“Some clubs acted very early so the choices were reduced and there is more competition coming from France with Paris St Germain, who buy big players for huge amounts of money, so it’s tough, difficult and slow.

“I can assure the fans we will try very hard to keep them happy. We are certainly ready to spend the money, but the process is going slowly, but surely.”

The veteran manager will eagerly look forward sign the Uruguay striker and make the team’s strike force a formidable one. They already offered £40million plus £1 to Liverpool, which is quite a lucrative offer.

Signing Luis Suarez will heal the agony of losing out Higuain to Napoli.
