Both shows are one of the very few comic book properties with a protagonist of Asian descent as the lead (though technically mark is half-alien because his father is a Viltrumite). Both protagonists have fathers who possess immense amounts of power that lead them to be one of the most feared people on the planet. Both protagonists lean on their mother’s teachings/energy in order to balance out the “evil” in their father. With that being said, the meme fits Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi perfectly.

The Instagram account belongs to @Darth.Primus and they post a lot of still photography, with the subject being action figures that belong to pop culture or the comic book genre. On the page, fans can see photography that has the Fantastic Four, G.I.Joe, X-Men, Hawkeye, Joker and Harley Quinn, Batman, J. Jonah Jameson, and multiple iterations of Thor. The account can now add Shang-Chi to the mix, as the movie was released this month to a great reception. The movie has a fight scene between the Mandarin and the titular character, which the fan page thought was reminiscent of the battle between Omni-Man and Invincible, as both fathers were trying to get their point of view across to their sons in the middle of a fight while also trying to kill them (which is counterproductive).
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is currently in theaters.
