The message, said the network, comes amid the worst drought Italy has experienced in 70 years. According to the BBC, the drought—caused by hotter-than-usual temperatures and little rainfall—“threatens more than 30 percent of Italy’s agricultural produce.” With that in mind, the government declared a state of emergency on Tuesday in five northern regions surrounding the Po River: Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Piedmont and Veneto....

Zidane has been an admirer of the player and is reportedly looking to bring him to the Bernabeu. Apparently we, as football supporters, crave transfer news and wish to be force-fed such information at any given opportunity, wherever we may be and whatever we may be doing. Admittedly, in the middle of summer, with there no actual competition to keep us amused, tall tales of comings and goings do, in some ways, help to fill the void between one season and the next. Rumour and gossip must be taken with a pinch of salt, with there being little substance to much of the so-called ‘exclusive’ content peddled by many a media outlet....

The club has yet to identify his successor but will be hoping to find the replacement before the World Cup kicks off in June. The clock is ticking and, negotiations with possible targets are expected to intensify after the season comes to an end. Police took the 25 year old in to custody after doors to a gym were kicked in and a window smashed at his apartment block in Bushey, Hertfordshire. Neighbours allegedly said they had heard the sound of doors being kicked in and windows smashed in the gym and pool area. CCTV footage also emerged apparently showing people at an outside door to the flats just after 1am. A camera inside the reception suite of the leisure area shows what appears to be the image of a man entering through a smashed window who then tries to kick open the locked door to the gym....

According to Daily Express, Ajax are ready to cash in on Ziyech who has been their most consistent player since joining from FC Twente in 2016 for just £10 million. Ziyech notched up 21 goals and 18 assists last season and has continued his form this term as well. Despite managing 6 goals and 12 assists in just 17 league games this season, Ajax are ready to part ways with Ziyech if they get the right offer....

While Denmark international Eriksen played a starring role in Spurs’ brilliant 3-1 victory over Chelsea by creating seven chances, two of which ended in assists for Dele Alli and Harry Kane, Ozil was an unused substitute as Arsenal overcame Bournemouth 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium. The former Germany star has struggled to ingratiate himself to new boss Unai Emery, whereas Eriksen continues to go from strength to strength in Mauricio Pochettino’s team....

Arsenal host Bayern Munich tomorrow in the first round of the knock out stages of the competition knowing that they have to put in a performance of a life time to get past the reigning European Champions who are further buoyed by the presence of Pep Guardiola in their ranks. Having crashed out of the competition last time around at the hands of Bayern albeit a mesmerizing performance at the Allianz Arena, the Gunners will be raring to get something out of the home game before they travel to Germany for the second leg....

Mourinho: No idea if Griezmann will join The Colombian goalkeeper has been given the nod over Petr Cech, with the duo having been considered 50-50 to start the showpiece match at Wembley. Per Mertesacker make his first start of the season due to Laurent Koscielny’s suspension and Shkodran Mustafi’s injury. Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte picks a starting line-up that will look very familiar to anyone who’s watched the Premier League champions this season....

The Gunners took an early lead after a fantastic piece of individual skill from their skipper, Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian midfielder, who is having an excellent season, fired in from a free-kick in sensational style. Mikel Arteta’s men then pushed on for a second and doubled their lead moments before the half-time whistle blew as Reiss Nelson finished off a neat Gunners attack. The Premier League leaders nearly added a third through Fabio Vieira when his effort from outside the box came close to curling into the top-left corner....
